Gradient City examines the complex phenomena of diversity that interweave buildings and landscape. Using a digital massing tool to transform color coded maps into 3d grids (voxels), the aim of the urban strategy addresses the next aspects: the collectiveness (open, public and green space), the grid (new phenomena of tridimensional grid) and the relationship between both. In particular, the intention of the proposal is to investigate the role of the urban design in this context through architecture, planning and landscape design with the goal of establish a combination of mixed use and diversity between inside and outside spaces, by challenging the traditional notion of ground level and spatial perception of the open space. The proposal presents a flexible and diverse combination of accumulative and aggregate levels of complexity regarding scale, location and program.
